If you couldn’t guess by the title, this blogpost will be all about your bra. Are you sure you’re wearing the correct size? At the end of this blogpost, there will be a link to a website called Triumph. They created a short online test to determine if your bra is suitable for you. But first, I’ll give you some tips and tricks for helping you find your perfect bra!
The bra band
First, you need to measure the outline of your back or let someone else do it. Breathe out while you’re getting measured otherwise the bra band will be too tight or too loose. Also, make sure that the measuring tape doesn’t go up or down, but in a straight line.
If you have to adjust your bra with the bra straps, there’s something wrong with your measurements. Bra straps are meant for keeping your bra in place, not to support.
When closing your bra, always use the first hook. If you wear your bra a lot, it will stretch. But don’t worry, that’s what the other two hooks are for. Use them to make your bra feel tighter again.
If you have to use the second or third hook straight after you bought your bra, your measurements weren’t correct. Always start with the first one!
The cup size
Your cup size will determine the depth of the cup and the width of the underwire. The cup should always start between the breasts and at the outside of your left and right breast.
If your breast peeks out at the sides, the bottom or the top, you should increase your cup size. If there’s room left inside your cup, go for a size smaller.
If the bra straps are cutting into your skin, try adjusting them. If that doesn’t help, you should go for a bigger cup size. If they fall off, try adjusting them and if it doesn’t help, try a smaller cup size. This should solve the problem!
Many people, including me, think they know everything there is to know about a bra. But that is not the case at all. Ready for some interesting facts you didn’t know? Read these:
- Bra’s should be washed by hand, not in the washing machine!
- If you lost or gained weight, it’s always a good idea to check your measurements.
- Nude colored bra’s are more transparent than white ones when wearing a white shirt.
- After washing your bra, you should adjust the bra straps.
- You should alternate between three bra’s during each week.
- If you’ve worn your bra twice, it’s recommended to wash it.
- After a year, you should buy a new bra.
- Don’t shop for bra’s when you’re on your period. Your boobs will be bigger!
Not so keen on always washing your bra’s by hand? Keep them on when you’re in the shower. You can let them air dry when you’re done. Also, this may sound crazy, but you can also use a salad spinner to make it dry faster!
Last but not least, I will show you how I store my bra’s. They can get so messy when they’re inside your drawers, so try this method:
As promised, here’s a link to the website Triumph. Do the test and see if you’re wearing the correct bra! Let me know in the comments what your outcome was. I was totally wearing the wrong size haha, but now that I know all of these things, I will definitely look out for the perfect bra! 🙂
Good luck everyone!
Thank you for stopping by and until next time,
