MAY FAVORITES 2015 | SMOOTH SKIN & PERFECT WINGED EYELINER

Goodbye May, Hello June!

Another month has passed. Time for my monthly favorites, from beauty products to fashion items, from music to events. May was all about smooth skin, perfect winged eyeliner and an amazing Mothersday. Check it out:

BEAUTY

Yves Saint Laurent Babydoll Liquid Eyeliner N°0 Black

I use this eyeliner almost every single day. Thanks to the very small brush, I’m able to perfect my winged eyeliner. It’s very precise and easy to apply. This is definitely my favorite liquid eyeliner EVER!

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Surgras Physiological Soap

I probably have the driest skin in the entire world. I feel really insecure whenever I have to show my legs because I find them so so so ugly. I’ve tried so many different things to make them feel softer and look better, but nothing worked. As a final attempt, I went to the dermatologist. He proscribed me a physiological soap and a lotion.

These products respect the natural oils your skin produces, which is very important! They were designed especially for dry, uncomfortable and sensitive skin. Most soaps wash off all of the natural oils, which gives your hands a rough and dry feel. I bought this soap at the pharmacy for only €5. Well spent, if you ask me.

The lotion was proscribed by the dermatologist but you can get a proscription from your own doctor as well. I got three tubes of 300gr for €10. I’m very pleased with the results so no more complaining!

FASHION

H&M Yellow Bag

Every time I visited H&M, this bag always caught my attention. I thought it looked so pretty and I don’t own any yellow bags. The quality felt really nice as well and it only costed €10. However, I didn’t buy it the first 10 times I went to H&M. Don’t ask me why, ’cause I don’t even know. When we got a discount ticket worth €5, I saw it as a sign that God wanted me to buy that bag, so I did. And voila, I love it.

EVENT

Mothersday Barbecue With My Family

On Mothersday, we all had to work so we couldn’t give my mom the perfect day she deserved. To make up for it, we surprised her with a barbecue the next day. The weather was beautiful! We had such an amazing day. The food was delicious, everyone was happy and the atmosphere couldn’t be better.

I gifted my mom a guitar she had once seen while window-shopping in Hasselt. She was so happy and she’s now following some tutorials on YouTube to learn how to play the guitar. I think she enjoys it, so that makes me happy!

We also walked our dogs at the end of the day, when the sun was starting to set. The temperatures were still very nice and the dogs were so excited!

Printed Pictures

As I mentioned in my previous blogpost, I absolutely love these printed pictures! Having them in your hand feels so much better than looking at them on your screen. Am I right?

This is how I described my feelings towards these pictures in my previous blogpost:

You know, using our iPhone’s and DSLR camera’s to take pictures is a great thing. We can take hundreds of pictures in just a couple of minutes. Don’t like them? Deleting them only takes two seconds. We can edit them, crop them, put text on them… The possibilities are endless.

But when I was younger and people took pictures with their camera’s, they didn’t have those options. They had a certain amount of pictures they could take until the camera roll was full. Back then, there was no screen to check if your picture turned out the way you wanted it to be. You just had to go with it. After you turned in your camera roll at the store, you had to wait for them to develop your pictures. When you could finally pick them up, you could then get a first glimpse of them. Some of them were good, while others were blurry, too light, too dark…

Even tough I am very grateful for the technology we now have, I still think the authentic method had it’s charms. It’s so much fun looking at old pictures, even when they aren’t perfect. Having them in your hands feels so much better than just looking at them on a screen. At least, that’s what I think.

DIY: Tumblr & Pinterest Inspired Picture Frame

This was the first DIY I did on my blog and I absolutely loved it! I think it turned out so pretty and exactly how I wanted. It just adds something to my room and the fact that I made it myself makes it extra special.

  1. Wauwie, ten eerste mijn complimenten voor jouw mooie blog. And those printed pictures are genuinely lovely. De eyeliner ziet er ook goed uit overigens, maar eh – ik doe het niet vaak, maar de keren dat ik het heb geprobeerd mislukte het. :’)

    Veel liefs,
